Thursday Night Briefing, Calcutta and Dinner

The official Welcome and Tournament Briefing will commence at 6:00pm at the Whangaroa Sport Fishing Club (aka: ITM Game base). This will be followed by the Calcutta Auction of all teams.  

Dinner is included and available from 6.30 to 9.00pm at Club bistro, you must present a dinner ticket to get your meal, these are in your registration packs.

A Calcutta will be run after the briefing on Thursday night where each team will be auctioned off.  

We have introduced three prize levels; split as follows:

  1. Total raised $15,000
  2. Split into 1st, 2nd & 3rd and 4th
  3. 1st (60%) $9000    2nd (20%) $3000,     3rd (10%) $1500 ,    4th (10%) $1500

For the purposes of the Calcutta the winning team is calculated on sport-fishing points plus game-fishing points x 2. All money must be paid IN CASH on the night.

 

Friday Night Wrap-up for the Day and Minor Prize Giving

Dinner included is available from 6.30pm to 9pm at the ITM Gamebase bistro. We will have a minor prize giving and wrap up of the days fishing at 7.30pm. 

 

Saturday Night Dinner

On Saturday night, the official Awards Night Dinner will commence at 7:00pm and major prize giving will commence at approximately 8:30pm at the ITM Gamebase in the WSF Club. This is when the winning teams will be announced, and the Calcutta will be won.
Any prizes not won: Anglers who have not won a prize will be put into a draw for remaining prizes, you must be there to collect your prize otherwise it will be redrawn.

The distribution of prizes within your team is the team’s responsibility.  Set the ground rules now, as ITM will not get involved in your domestic differences!

Money

You will need cash for Thursday night's Calcutta, there are no ATM’s in Whangaroa so make sure you get cash out before you arrive, the closest ATM is in Kaeo.  Drinks and food can be purchased with cash and eftpos from the Club bar and café.


Boat Launching

Available at the end of the Whangaroa Road, keep driving past the Club and you will come to the boat ramp.


Boat Parking

Berths at the marina, directly outside the club can be pre-booked.  Book online whangaroamarina/berthbookings or email   manager@whangaroamarina.co.nz or 09 4050505 – bookings open 1st of October each year for the following season.

You remain responsible for your boat and the contents of it, therefore leaving equipment inside will be done so at your own risk. 

 

Fuel

Diesel is available on the Clansman Wharf at Whangaroa (BP Card required) also Totara North across the harbour (Mobil Card required).

 

Bait and Ice

Can be purchased from the BP in Kaeo or Kaeo Farm and Fuel.

 

Coastguard

The Coastguard channel is VH05.

 

Food

Breakfast, lunch and dinner each day are included within your entry fee:

· Breakfast is open from 4.30am on Friday and Saturday morning and 7:00am until 9:00am on Sunday morning.

· Lunch will be available for collection from 4.30am on Friday and Saturday morning from the Club.

· Dinner on Thursday & Friday from 6.30pm to 9.00pm and Saturday night will commence at 7.00pm and go to 9.00pm

 

Beverages

Cash Bar—Eftpos is available.

 

Name Tags/Lanyards

In your pack you will find name tags and lanyards and meal tickets in your lanyards. The lanyards are to be worn at all official events of the competition. Thursday night briefing, breakfast each morning and the dinner each night. The name tag is for your identification on the truth mat when a photo is taken of your fish.


Fish Smoking
