We’re thrilled to be hosting this year’s ITM Trade Fishing Competition, marking our 10th anniversary—and for the first time, we’re bringing the event to Ōpua! 

While we’ll miss Whangaroa this year, we’re excited to explore this stunning new location. If Ōpua proves to be a success, we plan to alternate between Whangaroa and Ōpua in future years—giving everyone the best of both worlds.

We’re looking forward to welcoming ITM stores and their customers from across the country to the Far North. It’s a great opportunity to connect, compete, and celebrate what makes our community so special.

We’re also excited to confirm that Matt Watson will be joining us again with the Mongrel Pig Dogs team. Matt is always a crowd favourite—he loves catching up with ITM customers and stores, and sharing the latest fishing stories.

With incredible fishing grounds and plenty of potential “spot Xs,” we’re expecting some reel good fishing. No pressure—but we’re keen to see some impressive catches come in!Opua Marina, Opua

As always, we’re promoting sustainable fishing practices. More points and bigger prizes are awarded for tag and release entries over weighed fish—so fish smart and fish responsibly.
